In addition to electricity, the power grid for households will also become more expensive next year
According to Dutch regulator ACM, maintenance and management costs for the power and gas grids will rise sharply in 2027, with households paying an average of €89 more—an increase of nearly 20%. This is due to major investments by grid operators like Stedin and Liander, needed for new housing and renewable energy infrastructure. In 2023, over €6 billion was invested; by 2028, this could exceed €16 billion. Netbeheer Nederland expects future annual increases of 5-7%. Flexible tariffs are planned for 2029.
