EU allocates nearly 710 million euros for refugees and global humanitarian aid
The European Commission is providing nearly 710 million euros to support refugees and deliver humanitarian aid worldwide. The largest portion, 380 million euros, is designated for African countries south of the Sahara to assist vulnerable refugees and promote voluntary return and reintegration. Additional funds include 10 million euros for peace in the Great Lakes region, 7.5 million euros for Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and 60 million euros to stimulate private investment in health and food industries. Emergency aid totals 252 million euros, with 97 million for Africa, 103 million for Lebanon and the Palestinian Territories, and 52 million for Ukraine.
