25.5 degrees in De Bilt: officially the warmest September 29 on record
According to meteorologist Jordi Huirne of Buienradar, September 29 reached 25.5 degrees Celsius in De Bilt, breaking the previous record of 25.4 degrees set in 1934. Warm air from Spain and France drove temperatures significantly above the seasonal average, with Limburg reaching up to 29 degrees. The unusually high heat is expected to persist into the next day before rain and thunderstorms move in to lower temperatures by Thursday.
