Energy Emergency Fund Opens This Autumn: 500,000 Households Eligible for Support
The Dutch Energy Emergency Fund will reopen this autumn with a budget of 193 million euros to assist approximately 500,000 households in energy poverty. Unlike previous years, the fund will no longer operate on a first-come, first-served basis, allowing eligible applicants four months to submit requests starting January 4, 2027. The support targets households spending at least 8% or 10% of their income on energy, depending on whether they earn up to 130% or between 130% and 200% of the social minimum, providing compensation ranging from 120 to 1,800 euros.
