British Chess Sensation (11) Becomes Youngest Female Grandmaster Ever
Eleven-year-old Bodhana Sivanandan from London has become the youngest chess player ever to achieve the title of Woman Grandmaster (WGM) at the Chess Olympiad in Uzbekistan. She broke the previous age record held by Kateryna Lagno, who earned the title at twelve. Sivanandan, who discovered chess during the pandemic, aims to eventually become a full Grandmaster, a title currently held by 44 women, with Hou Yifan remaining the youngest to achieve it at fourteen.
