85 Break-ins at Fire Stations This Year Already
The number of break-ins at fire stations in the Netherlands has risen sharply, with 85 incidents recorded so far this year compared to 17 in 2024 and 18 in 2025. Stolen items include heavy rescue tools like hydraulic pumps used to free accident victims. Twenty-one of the 25 security regions experienced at least one break-in or attempt. While emergency response was not significantly compromised, some processes were temporarily adjusted. Police are conducting a nationwide investigation into these crimes.
