Resurgence of War Threatens Ethiopia
The Ethiopian government and the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) accuse each other of launching new offensives in northern Ethiopia, raising fears of a renewed war following a 2020–2022 conflict that killed over half a million people. The African Union has called for restraint as the TPLF claims to have seized several airfields and engaged government troops in the Afar region.
