Short Fire at Tata Steel Site Causes Thick Smoke Clouds
A fire broke out on a conveyor belt at the Tata Steel facility in Velsen on Monday afternoon, prompting thick smoke clouds to drift over the area. The fire brigade was called around 16:20 and quickly brought the blaze under control with the help of the company's fire service. No injuries were reported, and the installation was evacuated. Residents in Velsen were advised to keep windows and doors closed due to the smoke, which had largely dissipated by 16:40. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
