Free Flu Shot for Primary School Staff Starting Next Academic Year
Teachers and other primary education staff can receive free flu shots paid for by their employers starting from the next academic year, as reported by the AOb teachers' union via its journal Onderwijsblad. While employers could decide individually for the 2026-2027 school year, the new mandatory rule takes effect on August 1, 2027. AOb leader Anton Bodegraven emphasized the necessity due to higher infection risks in small spaces, a view supported by the Health Council.
