Amsterdam places trash can in the middle of crosswalk: 'A real laugh'
The municipality of Amsterdam has placed a trash can in the middle of a crosswalk at a renovated roundabout in the north of the city. While residents assumed it was a mistake, a municipal spokesperson told city broadcaster AT5 that it was intentional due to a temporary shortage of posts. Some locals found it amusing, calling it 'typical Noord,' while others questioned the logic. The trash can was placed to prevent cars from driving through and for cyclists' safety. It will soon be replaced by a post.
