Evoluon Turns 60: 'This is the Symbol of Eindhoven'
The Evoluon, a futuristic saucer-shaped building in Eindhoven, celebrates its 60th anniversary since its opening on September 24, 1966. Commissioned by Philips for its 75th anniversary, the concrete structure was designed to showcase technology and innovation. Although it closed as a museum in 1989 due to high costs, it became a congress center and received national monument status in 2018.
