No Suicide Prevention Signs on Merwede Bridge: Warnings Distract Drivers Too Much
Rijkswaterstaat has denied permission to place suicide prevention signs on the Merwede Bridge, citing concerns that they may distract drivers. Municipalities Gorinchem and Altena sought the signs following multiple suicide attempts, with Altena’s council passing a motion in March to install them.
