Military Radar Station Approved for Construction in Herwijnen, Gelderland
The Council of State has rejected objections from residents and local authorities, allowing the Ministry of Defence to proceed with building a military radar station in Herwijnen. Despite years of opposition citing noise and health risks from radiation, the court ruled that the location was properly vetted and sufficient safety measures are in place. Although the plan is now definitive, the Arnhem court must still rule on the project's environmental permit.
