Photographer Vladimir Karamazov visited Belene prison on the Danube 67 times between 2023 and 2024 to interview and portrait inmates serving life sentences. Through these interactions, Karamazov moved away from black-and-white morality, particularly after facilitating contact between inmate Milcho Hristov Aleksandrov and his daughter, who forgave him despite his crimes.
