Merel Westrik becomes new jury chair for Woutertje Pieterse Prize
Journalist and presenter Merel Westrik has been appointed the new jury chair for the Woutertje Pieterse Prize, succeeding Rik van de Westelaken. Announced on NPO Radio 1, the five-member jury includes Nathaly Loe Mie, Ernest van der Kwast, Frauke Pauwels, and Eric Huysen. They will evaluate children's and young adult books published in 2026, with the winner announced in April 2027. The prize celebrates its 40th anniversary next year, following last year's award to Bart Moeyaert and Mark Janssen for their book Atman!.
