Silent War Grave to Receive Visits Again After Schoolchildren Adopt It
Nine primary schools in Best, Netherlands, have adopted war graves at the Mierlo cemetery following a call by 89-year-old Loek van den Hurk. Students from Kindcentrum Platijn adopted Corporal Hines, who died in September 1944 during the liberation of Best. The school will provide annual maintenance funds and organize visits, aiming to teach children about bravery and peace through these historical connections.
