Jeweller Still Suffers from 'Stupid Choice' of Zakaria
Mustafa Alzuhariy, a jeweller in Breda, faces ongoing recovery efforts after two ram-raids within a year. In court, 21-year-old suspect Zakaria Y. admitted to the September raid, calling it a "stupid choice" for which he received 3,000 euros. The prosecution seeks a one-and-a-half-year prison sentence, but Alzuhariy argues this is disproportionate to the 150,000-euro damage and lasting impact on victims. Zakaria, who has prior convictions and fled police earlier this year, claims he wants to change his life through music. The Breda court will deliver its verdict on October 5.
