Houtribdijk May Be Closed to Heavy Traffic for Years
Starting October 21, Rijkswaterstaat will ban vehicles heavier than 15 tons from the Houtribdijk between Enkhuizen and Lelystad due to aging and damaged bridges at the Houtribsluizen. The authority warns that repairs could take years, forcing heavy truck drivers to detour via the Afsluitdijk or Amsterdam, adding approximately 1.5 hours to their travel time.
