Households Can Apply for Energy Poverty Relief Fund Starting January
Starting January, Dutch households can apply for the energy poverty relief fund, which contains 193 million euros to assist approximately half a million families facing high gas prices. The eligibility criteria have expanded to include households earning up to 130 percent of the social minimum who spend eight percent or more of their income on energy. Minister Vijlbrief aims to prevent financial hardship during winter, noting that applications will be processed between January 4 and May 7, with payouts ranging from 120 to 1,800 euros distributed evenly across the year.
