Police intercept fatbike capable of 80 km/h during traffic check
During police checks on electric bicycles in Pijnacker and Nootdorp near The Hague, a fatbike capable of reaching 80 km/h was confiscated, along with eight other modified bikes exceeding legal speed limits. The checks, prompted by a rise in e-bike accidents in the Netherlands, revealed many bikes were altered with converters. Fines were also issued for technical violations and traffic offenses, including running red lights and riding without helmets. Two weeks earlier, a fatbike exceeding 100 km/h was seized in Rotterdam after a pursuit.
