Schmidt Zeevis changes hands after acquisition, ending Rotterdam ownership era
HANOS, a food and non-food wholesaler based in Apeldoorn, is acquiring Schmidt Zeevis in Rotterdam from current owners Marcel van Breda and Jos van Vuren. The sale marks the first time the company has been owned by non-Rotterdam interests since Van Breda and Van Vuren purchased it in 2012. Van Breda, who wishes to retire without family successors, expects the Autoriteit Consument en Markt (ACM) to approve the deal within weeks. If approved, Van Breda plans to step down immediately, while Van Vuren will continue working. HANOS assures that the company's identity will remain largely intact, with only minor efficiency adjustments expected.
