DigiD App Now Available Without a Smartphone
The DigiD app can now be downloaded directly onto computers, allowing approximately one million Dutch residents without smartphones to access digital government services. This update simplifies login by removing the need for pairing codes or QR scans while maintaining security through personal PINs. Staatssecretaris Eric van der Burg stated this step ensures digital services work for everyone, including those using assistive technologies like eye-tracking software, following user research conducted with Logius and Stichting Accessibility.
