Surprising Departure of Boldking CEO Piet-Hein Smit
Piet-Hein Smit, the CEO of razor company Boldking, announced his departure on LinkedIn, stating he felt it was time for a new step. Although Smit had previously claimed the company was profitable, financial analysis by RTL Z revealed that Boldking incurred net losses of over 1.2 million euros in 2023 and 688,000 euros in 2024. Smit stated that negotiations for new investment have concluded successfully, allowing him to pass the baton to successor Bram van IJsel Smits, who joins from De Koffiejongens. Despite the losses, Boldking reported positive prospects and sufficient equity at the end of 2024.
