New national campaign 'Is your home ready for the future?' helps people with insulation
The Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations launched a national campaign on September 29, 2026, to help homeowners insulate their properties step by step. The government aims to have 2.5 million homes insulated by 2030, focusing on 1.5 million poorly insulated houses. Minister Boekholt-O’Sullivan emphasized that insulation improves comfort and reduces energy costs amid rising prices. Over 570,000 owner-occupied homes were insulated between 2022 and 2025, with additional support available through Verbeterjehuis.nl. The initiative also targets rental housing, aiming to isolate one million units, supported by municipal efforts and extra funding.
