CBS: Dutch households have slightly more disposable income
According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Dutch households had slightly more disposable income in the second quarter, rising by 0.7 percent compared to the same period last year. This increase was primarily driven by a 5 percent rise in employee wages, higher unemployment benefits linked to minimum wage increases, and higher pension payouts. While self-employed individuals saw their income drop by 2.2 percent, total mortgage debt also grew to 948 billion euros, representing 80 percent of the economy's size.
