Arrests in the Netherlands for Sanctions Violations Linked to Russian Security Service
Dutch criminal defense attorney Ilkay G. and Russian software developer German L. were arrested by the Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIOD) for allegedly violating sanctions against Russia. They are suspected of supplying prohibited IT services and sanctioned high-tech goods to a Russian business group linked to the Federal Security Service (FSB) by routing products through third countries. The Dutch company Itglobal.com, owned by German L., is connected to Dmitry Gachko, who was placed on the EU sanctions list in July 2026 for developing surveillance hardware and software for the SORM system used by the FSB. The Public Prosecution Service announced the arrests, noting that the individuals' specific roles in developing surveillance software are still under investigation.
