German Industry Craves Charging Stations
At the IAA commercial vehicle show in Hannover, German automakers and suppliers urged for expanded charging infrastructure and a hydrogen network to support electric transport. Daimler Truck CEO Karin Radstrom warned that the industry faces existential threats if EU CO2 regulations are not relaxed, noting that 35,000 public charging points are needed by 2030 but only 2,000 currently exist.
