Tens of Criminal Networks Dismantled in Mega Operation by Belgian Police
The Belgian Federal Police led Operation Atlas Nexus, a joint international effort involving 34 countries and 8,700 officers, resulting in the arrest of more than 490 individuals. Approximately 375 arrests occurred in Costa Rica, targeting networks involved in drug trafficking, human smuggling, document fraud, firearm fraud, and environmental crime across Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Authorities seized over 156.9 tons of drugs, 201 weapons, and thousands of rounds of ammunition, while rescuing eighteen victims.
