Bus Guardrail Pierces City Bus Meters Deep in Tilburg
On Monday morning, a city bus crashed into a bridge guardrail on Koolhovenlaan in Tilburg’s Reeshof district after the driver lost control for unknown reasons. The steel barrier pierced meters deep into the vehicle, passing through a passenger seat and leaving the bus suspended with two wheels over water. Both the driver and one passenger received medical treatment at the scene from ambulance personnel. Police, fire services, and emergency responders attended the incident, which resulted in significant damage and a complete road closure. A recovery company was called to remove the bus, and the municipality of Tilburg is assisting with the aftermath. Police have seized in-bus camera footage to investigate the cause.
