Light finally for Brabantia footballers: municipality to prune trees
After a year and a half of disputes, the municipality of Eindhoven has agreed to temporarily prune trees obstructing floodlights at vv Brabantia's fields. Board member Peter Kruizinga reported that overhanging branches cast deep shadows, making evening training nearly impossible despite high energy costs. Following a site visit prompted by media coverage, a municipal spokesperson confirmed limited pruning will occur soon to improve visibility while considering tree health. Although pleased with this interim measure, Kruizinga remains concerned about future lighting as the trees continue to grow. The municipality stated it is also seeking a structural solution, such as relocating the lighting infrastructure, to ensure adequate playing conditions without compromising the trees.
