Tens of people killed in India and Nepal due to heavy rainfall
Heavy rain and storms have caused floods and landslides in India, killing 56 people, injuring 46, and damaging over 1,000 homes. In Nepal, 14 people died and 11 remain missing, with authorities warning of potential sudden floods in 49 districts. Uttar Pradesh received nearly nine times its normal rainfall between September 25 and 27, causing major rivers like the Ganges to rise above critical levels. The disaster management service urged Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts to remain alert following last month's deadly floods that killed more than 1,450 people.
