Quarter Million Sign-ups for New Hyves
Social network Hyves received 250,000 registration requests within a day of its return after thirteen years, creating a long waiting list managed by owner Mediahuis to prevent technical issues. The platform, once popular with ten million users before being overtaken by Facebook, has been rebuilt with European technical architecture and without algorithms. Users are being admitted gradually over the coming days to manage the high volume of interest in the revived service.
