Large Flame Visible from Afar Due to Malfunction at Shell Moerdijk
A malfunction at the Shell Moerdijk facility has caused flaring, resulting in a large visible flame and noise heard across the region. The Safety Region South Holland-Zuid stated that the flaring poses no health risk but may be disturbing, advising residents not to report it to emergency services. The incident is expected to continue until Monday, September 21, late afternoon. Similar reports were received in June when Shell also had to flare gas.
