PRO Joins Social Democrats in European Parliament
Following the 2029 European elections, the Dutch party PRO will join the Party of European Socialists (PES) rather than the European Green Party, as decided by a member vote where approximately 65% supported PES for greater influence. Members also elected Kitty Jong as the new party chairperson and approved Mariëtte Hamer as the lead candidate for the Senate, succeeding Paul Rosenmöller.
