Mathilde Commemorates Belgian Victim of 9/11 Attacks
Queen Mathilde of Belgium commemorated the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York on Sunday evening, specifically honoring Patrice Braut, the sole Belgian casualty. Visiting for the UN General Assembly, she laid a wreath at the Survivor Tree and planted a white rose near Braut’s name at the memorial pools. Queen Máxima is also attending UN events in the city.
