Zirkzee Returns to Oranje After Two Years as Replacement for Injured Brobbey
Oranje coach Xavi Hernández has called up Joshua Zirkzee to replace Brian Brobbey, who suffered an injury during the 1-1 Nations League draw against Germany on Thursday. The Manchester United forward will join the squad in Zeist on Friday and travel to Belgrade for Sunday’s match against Serbia at 18:00. Zirkzee, 25, makes his first appearance for the national team in nearly two years, having last played in November 2024. He previously participated in Euro 2024 and has scored one goal in six caps. The Netherlands also faces Greece on October 1 and Serbia again on October 4.
