Suspect (17) in cross-motor fraud scam turns himself in to police
A 17-year-old from Amersfoort surrendered to police regarding a cross-motor fraud scheme, admitting he fled with the vehicle during a test ride. The incident occurred on June 7 in Utrecht after the suspect arranged to pick up the bike from a Belgian seller who had traveled there upon payment of shipping costs. Police recovered the motorcycle and returned it to its owner. Authorities noted that nearly thirty similar thefts occurred in Utrecht between January and July, typically involving suspects fleeing during test rides.
