Stellantis Halts Peugeot and Citroën Factories Due to Battery Shortage
Automaker Stellantis is temporarily suspending production at several French plants, including facilities in Sochaux and Rennes, due to a shortage of batteries for electric vehicles. The shutdowns, scheduled from late October 23 to 30, affect the production of Peugeot 3008, 5008, and Citroën C5 Aircross models. Stellantis cited higher demand for long-range electric cars compared to supply as the primary reason for adjusting production schedules to avoid excessive inventory that does not meet customer preferences.
