Utrecht trams and buses used more frequently, but not as much as before corona
Public transport ridership in Utrecht Province increased slightly last year to 61.5 million check-ins, yet remains below the 2019 figure of nearly 62.7 million. The province attributes this plateau to staff shortages causing unreliable service, increased remote work, and fewer students. Service cancellations exceeded acceptable levels across all operators, with Qbuzz at 1.6 percent, Syntus at 2.8 percent, and trams at 1.5 percent. Customer satisfaction remained stable between 7.8 and 8.0, with trams rated highest for punctuality, while prices were viewed less favorably. P+R ticket sales rose by 5 percent, led by Westraven.
