Banking Ethics Foundation to Cease Operations Due to Bank Opposition
The Stichting Tuchtrecht Banken (STB), which oversees the integrity of bank employees, announced it will cease operations by October 1, 2027, citing frustration with banks that allegedly frustrate improvements in disciplinary law. The STB argues that banks only report minor cases where misconduct is already proven, failing to address gray areas or leadership issues. Consequently, the organization calls for independent oversight similar to healthcare and accounting.
