Former FC Twente player Douglas held on suspicion of domestic violence
Former FC Twente defender Douglas Franco Teixeira remains in custody on suspicion of domestic violence after a judge extended his pre-trial detention by fourteen days. The 38-year-old Brazilian-born player, who won the Eredivisie title with FC Twente in 2010, was questioned by police at his home in Enschede. He retired from professional football in 2021 and currently plays for amateur club TVV while working at the joint youth academy of FC Twente and Heracles Almelo.
