UN: US Attacks on ‘Drug Boats’ Violate International Law and May Constitute Crimes Against Humanity
Ben Saul, the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights and counter-terrorism, stated that US attacks on boats suspected of carrying narcoterrorists in the Caribbean violate international law and may amount to crimes against humanity. Since September 2025, the US has conducted 69 strikes resulting in at least 231 deaths, which Saul describes as serial extrajudicial executions.
