Dutch State to Buy 70 Percent of Borssele Nuclear Power Plant Shares from Zeeland Authorities
The Dutch government is purchasing a 70 percent stake in EPZ, the operator of the Borssele nuclear power plant, from Zeeland provincial and municipal authorities for 115.7 million euros. This acquisition aims to keep the facility operational until 2054, provided safety standards are met and regulatory approvals are secured. The German energy company RWE retains its existing 30 percent share.
