Mandatory training for owners of dangerous dogs and potential higher penalties in case of incidents
Dutch State Secretary for Agriculture, Erkens, announced that owners of designated dangerous dog breeds must attend mandatory behavioral courses by early 2027 to reduce bite incidents. Owners who fail to complete the training face harsher penalties if their dog bites, while costs remain the owner's responsibility.
