Burglary takes bizarre turn: intruder leaves part of his finger behind
After security cameras detected movement at his carpentry business in Veldhoven on Thursday night, owner Peerke confronted two intruders who fled into a dead-end area with a two-meter-high fence. One intruder escaped by climbing the fence while the other was chased away; the climber later returned demanding an ambulance because he had lost a significant portion of his ring finger during the escape. Although police and Peerke searched the premises that night without success, Peerke discovered the severed finger part lodged in a hollow tube of the fence the next morning and handed it over to authorities.
