Existing Home Prices Drop Slightly in August as Growth Continues to Slow
Prices for existing homes in the Netherlands cooled slightly in August, falling by 0.1 percent compared to July, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) and the Land Registry. Despite the monthly decline, prices remain 3.3 percent higher than a year ago, with the average cost reaching 503,523 euros. Sales volume also decreased by nearly 3 percent year-over-year. CBS chief economist Peter Hein van Mulligen attributes the slowing price growth to higher mortgage rates limiting borrowing capacity and an increased supply from investors selling rental properties due to stricter regulations.
