Man Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison for Years of Abusing Daughter and Stepdaughter
A 44-year-old man from Barneveld was sentenced to seven years in prison on Monday for abusing his daughter and stepdaughter over nearly twelve years, starting when they were seven and nine years old. The Arnhem court found that the abuse severely damaged the victims' development and violated their trust, noting that the offenses continued despite multiple reports. The defendant also secretly recorded people in his toilet. In addition to the prison term, which matches the Public Prosecution Service's request, he must pay 20,000 euros in compensation to each victim and is subject to a contact ban.
