Climate Change Leaves Less Time to Restore Forests
The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) warns in a new report that the world has less time to restore forests, with over 489 million hectares lost since 1990. Although progress has been made in protecting trees, less than one-fifth of the agreed goal to restore 1 billion hectares has been achieved due to threats like fires and extreme weather.
