JAY-Z Seeks Review of Dismissed Case Against Lawyer in Rape Allegation
JAY-Z has asked an appellate court to reconsider his defamation lawsuit against attorney Tony Buzbee, who represented the woman accusing him of rape. A lower court dismissed the case earlier this year due to insufficient proof that Buzbee knew the allegations were false at the time he filed suit. JAY-Z argues the case should be revived now that the accuser admitted her claims were untrue. Buzbee had filed the lawsuit in 2024 on behalf of the woman, who retracted her accusation last year. The original claim involved events from 2000 and also implicated Sean Combs.
