Sjoerd Kuyper Posthumously Wins Gouden Griffel 2026
The late author Sjoerd Kuyper has been awarded the Gouden Griffel 2026 for his book Maantje verhuist de zee, announced by books umbrella organization CPNB on Thursday. Although Kuyper passed away at age 74 on Tuesday, he received the prize beforehand with his wife and publisher present. Illustrator Karst-Janneke Rogaar won the Gouden Penseel 2026 for Lucy en Donker, which she both wrote and illustrated, and will accept the award during the Children's Book Ball on Friday.
